Cardano and XRP Unite: Hoskinson Bets Big on Ripple Integration

  • Cardano is making a bold move by integrating XRP into its ecosystem, aiming to enhance cross-chain interoperability and expand its DeFi offerings.
  • Cardano’s upcoming features, including the Glacier Airdrop and Lace wallet XRP support, signal a strategic push to attract XRP holders and boost multi-chain adoption.

Cardano XRP Integration Sparks Industry Buzz

In a surprising yet strategic twist, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has revealed plans to go all-in on integrating XRP into the ADA blockchain. According to George Tung of CryptosRus, the move is “like everything”—and it could be. The initiative is designed to bridge Cardano with Ripple’s ecosystem, setting the stage for a wave of cross-chain innovation and deeper DeFi expansion.

Hoskinson confirmed on June 14 that his team is building a complete suite of tools to support XRP functionality, including the highly anticipated Glacier Airdrop, XRP-powered DeFi utilities, and even the potential onboarding of Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin.

Glacier Airdrop: Bringing XRP Holders into the Cardano Fold

A central pillar of this integration is the Glacier Airdrop, now rescheduled for Q4 2025.Cardano will distribute Midnight tokens—which power its privacy-centric sidechain—to users across multiple chains, including XRP holders. This token drop entices the XRP community into the ADA ecosystem, expands the user base, and fuels cross-chain interoperability in line with Cardano’s long-term vision.

Lace Wallet to Support XRP After Bitcoin

Cardano’s Lace Wallet is also getting a major upgrade. Following its April 2025 support for Bitcoin, the next release will add XRP compatibility, allowing users to manage ADA, BTC, and XRP from a single interface. This move marks another step toward positioning Cardano as a multi-asset hub, welcoming holders from leading blockchain ecosystems.

DeFi Dreams: RLUSD and XRP Liquidity Pools in Focus

Looking ahead, Cardano is exploring ways to embed XRP into its DeFi ecosystem, including cross-chain liquidity pools and decentralized exchanges. The ultra-low fees and speed of XRP transactions make it a prime candidate. Even more intriguing is the ongoing dialogue with Ripple about integrating RLUSD, Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, into Cardano’s DeFi suite.

Hoskinson Sees Future Growth Through XRP

It has been made clear by Charles Hoskinson that the future of Cardano could be defined by its alignment with XRP and Bitcoin. This bold integration strategy is not only a technical pivot—it’s a powerful message that collaboration, not competition, may drive the next wave of blockchain adoption.
