Cardano Surpasses 110 Million Transactions: What’s Powering the Network’s Rapid Growth?

  • Cardano has surpassed 110 million transactions, reflecting steady growth in network activity, smart contract development, and governance participation.
  • Preparations for an upcoming intra-era hard fork signal major upgrades aimed at improving scalability, efficiency, and network diversity.

A Historic Milestone for Cardano

Cardano has officially crossed a major threshold—110 million transactions processed on its blockchain—marking a pivotal moment in its evolution. This milestone, shared in Input Output’s latest weekly report, reflects steady growth in network activity, development, and governance participation.

While much of the crypto market remains volatile, Cardano continues to quietly build its foundation. With 110.63 million transactions recorded and on-chain activity rising 0.19% week-over-week, the blockchain is proving its resilience and long-term vision.

Ecosystem Growth Shows No Signs of Slowing

Cardano’s expanding ecosystem is a testament to its growing community and developer interest. The platform now hosts 2,003 projects, while delegated wallets have also increased—indicating rising user confidence in staking and governance.

Smart contract development remains a strong driver, with 138,544 Plutus scripts and 7,350 Aiken scripts deployed, showcasing 0.14% week-over-week growth. Meanwhile, governance is gaining real traction: the number of Delegated Representatives (DReps) has hit 1,365, with 972 actively participating. Development contributions are also booming, as GitHub commits surged 24% in just one week.

A Major Hard Fork on the Horizon

Cardano is also preparing for an intra-era hard fork later this year. The ledger team has been actively modernizing the codebase—improving readability, fixing bugs from the Byron era, and enhancing CDDL specifications. This signals a focus on long-term efficiency and developer friendliness.

Upcoming upgrades to the Cardano node include:

  • LSM trees for memory efficiency
  • Revised stake pool incentives to boost diversity
  • Anti-grinding measures to strengthen consensus
  • Tiered pricing to ensure predictable transaction costs

What This Means for Cardano

Cardano’s recent achievements highlight its commitment to sustainability, modular design, and community-driven innovation. With network fundamentals strengthening and a hard fork on the way, ADA is positioning itself as a key contender in the next wave of blockchain evolution.

As other chains chase headlines, Cardano is quietly building the future—transaction by transaction.
